Let us take the pain out of you having to prove you treat your customers fairly.

We have a well established process which many of our clients have already been through and have found extremely valuable.

This is the TCF Management system

The TCF Management System is a versatile tool designed to produce all the evidence needed that your business meets the FSA requirements for the fair treatment of customers. It has been carefully designed to demonstrate you are meeting all six of the required outcomes and provide MI that is both quantitative and qualitative. It is the first part of the process and works in this way.

First you complete the assessment questionnaire and e-mail it to us. This is your Gap Analysis and is best if you complete quickly and frankly as you can. Your answers are confidential and your personal assessor will work with you, supplying text and making suggestions until the questionnaire has been complete for the first time.

This part of the process should not take up much of your time, nor do we want you to change anything in your business at this stage. When you have answered all the questions (or marked N/A where necessary) return the form to your assessor by e-mail.

You may find that not all of the questions are relevant to your particular business but a majority of these are for all general insurance regulated firms. In these circumstances please enter “Not Relevant”. There may also be some TCF issues that are specific to your business only and if there is any information or questions you have relating to this – there is an area at the bottom of this GAP analysis for you to let us know about these).

Once you have completed the assessment questionnaire, your assessor begins to work with your answers to begin to draw up an action plan and that important evidence of what it is you are doing. Should the FSA call on you, you will have an impressive document to show them.

When we and you feel you are ready we will conduct an independent evaluation of your TCF, the objectives of which are:

  • To evaluate how you are progressing and to attain further evidence and clarification where required.
  • To identify gaps or areas of development.
  • To give your firm an independent view of how it is doing in meeting the requirements of Principle 6.
  • To set a benchmark for future reviews.
  • To stress test the procedures.
  • To identify appropriate Management Information relating to TCF.
  • To provide the necessary proof for the December 2008 deadline and thereafter.

We will then issue you with a report which will provide you with confirmation that you are/aren’t meeting the 6 required outcomes to an acceptable standard and will highlight strengths, areas for development and any necessary suggestions for further investigation.

Once you have met the standard, we will agree a period review date with you (typically every 6 months) to make sure you are staying focussed on TCF and that no major changes have taken place.
