Random Acts of Kindness Day 2026
Spreading Kindness: Random Act of Kindness Day 2026 arrived, and this year it felt more meaningful than ever for me and my family.
Life can feel busy, stressful, and sometimes a little overwhelming. This year we decided making people smile was super important.
It’s easy to forget how much a small, unexpected moment of kindness can lift someone, sometimes in ways we never even see. That’s why, this year, I encouraged my two youngest children, Frankie (12) and Lenny (10) to do something kind, simple, but full of heart. We drove around our local area leaving small bunches of bright yellow daffodils on random doorsteps — each one with a little surprise lottery ticket tucked inside.
We chose daffodils because they symbolise new beginnings and hope. After a long, dull winter, they are one of the first signs that brighter days are coming. And sometimes, that’s exactly what people need. We didn’t knock or wait to be thanked. The whole point was a nice little surprise to make somebody’s day: quiet kindness. Just a moment of unexpected happiness left on a doorstep.
As a Mum, it is incredibly important to me that Frankie and Lenny grow up understanding that kindness matters. That you don’t need a special reason to do something nice for someone. That the world feels better when we look out for each other, even in the smallest ways.
If you found a bunch of daffodils on your doorstep this Random Act of Kindness Day, please know they were left with genuine love, warmth, and the hope that they made you smile, even just for a moment.
And if you thought about doing your own random act of kindness this year, however big or small, I hope you did. Kindness has a ripple effect. You never know how far one small act might travel.
Random Act of Kindness Day 2026 was one that reminded people they matter.
