Bitesize Consumer Duty Series (Part Five) 6th September 2023 12pm – 1pm
Lifting the lid on the dark side of on-line customer journeys
Come and find out how to make your online journey easy and attractive to customers?
Curious about the hidden techniques used by some businesses to influence customers’ online decisions?
As technology continues to shape our digital landscape, it’s crucial to understand the darker side of website design, in order to develop an awareness of the risks to customers using an online journey.
The FCA’s Consumer Duty requires firms to deliver good customer outcomes, and this will require firms to examine their websites and/or online customer journeys. The regulator will, as part of its wider supervisory work, look closely at these aspects of a firm’s operations as part of the Consumer Duty.
Join us for an exclusive webinar where we’ll expose the secrets of website dark patterns, sludge practices, zuckering, bait and switch, fear of missing out, and labyrinth/maze.
We are delighted to have Larry Brangwyn (MD of Ethical Pixels) join us for this Bitesize session and he will provide expert knowledge and first-hand insight into the strategies employed by some online platforms. Larry has an extensive track record of creating award-winning online solutions for some of the world’s largest brands and firmly believes in the positive potential of technology to make our lives better.
The content of this session will include:
- How to make your firm’s online journey easy and attractive for customers
- How your firm’s website design will help meet the Consumer Duty
- Good and poor practices as seen through the eyes of a web developer
- ‘Sweet and sour’ spots
- Examples of changes made to websites that have delivered increased customer retention, better customer experience, and improved customer outcomes
Note **You don’t have to be a web designer to attend this session; it will be of interest to anyone involved in improving customer journeys. We also urge all Consumer Duty champions or anyone who may be involved with the development and implementation of their firm’s Consumer Duty plan to attend.
