20th February 2024: Booster: Preparing for your first Consumer Duty Board Report – A Step by Step Guide to help you plan

A cornerstone of the Consumer Duty is the annual requirement for the Board (or equivalent governing body) to review and approve the firm’s report on retail customer outcomes.  It’s an opportunity for firms explain how their efforts are contributing to better customer outcomes, report on the actions they’ve taken to address any weaknesses or non-compliance and confirm they are complying with the Duty’s obligations and that its business strategy is consistent with the Consumer Duty principles.

This session is aimed at those individuals who will lead the production of the Consumer Duty Board Report alongside the Board Champion and aims to cover:

  • Step by Step Guide – the essentials: A step-by-step guide through the key actions required to meet the 31 July 2024 deadline including the report skeleton, narrative building and approach to dry-runs.
  • Who should be involved in the Board report: An outline of the key roles and responsibilities for the production/sign off of the report
  • Importance of communication and engagement from all involved
  • Important Key metrics: A refresher on outcomes testing and types of evidence to demonstrate compliance with the duty’s obligations. It will be an opportunity for you to consider whether you have the right MI and what data you may need to obtain to help demonstrate good customer outcomes.

This is the first in a series of sessions we’re offering to support firms in the production of your Consumer Duty Board Report but please do get in touch if your firm is interested in bespoke/one to one sessions.
